FSK aluminum foil tape is a type of tape that is made up of three layers: aluminum foil, scrim, and kraft paper. The aluminum foil provides a barrier against heat and cold, the scrim provides strength and reinforcement, and the kraft paper provides a backing for the adhesive. High-strength foil-scrim-kraft paper all laminated together using a flame-retardant adhesive.
The tape consists of three main layers:
Foil Layer: The outermost layer is made of aluminum foil, which provides excellent thermal conductivity, moisture resistance, and durability.
Scrim Layer: The middle layer contains a reinforcing scrim, typically made of fiberglass or polyester. This layer enhances the strength and tear resistance of the tape.
Kraft Paper Layer: The innermost layer is composed of kraft paper, which adds further strength and stability to the tape.
FSK Aluminum Foil Tape is primarily used in HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems for insulation purposes. It is commonly applied to joints, seams, and connections in ductwork, pipes, and other components to provide an effective vapor barrier and protect against heat loss or gain.
FSK aluminum foil tape is used for sealing HVAC duct seams and joints where FSK is the basic insulation facing, provides a finished look for exposed HVAC systems.
