Insulation Facing Description

The FSE-1581B Foil Scrim Kraft Insulation Facing combines a 15u aluminum foil layer, a fiberglass scrim mesh, and heat-activated polyethylene backing to deliver superior durability, vapor barrier properties, and flame retardancy. This scrim faced insulation is ideal for a variety of applications, providing long-lasting protection against heat, moisture, and physical wear.

Aluminum Foil: This outer layer acts as a powerful radiant barrier, reflecting heat back towards its source and significantly reducing heat transfer through the insulation]. This helps maintain cooler interiors in summer and warmer interiors in winter, driving improved energy efficiency.

Fiberglass Scrim: The middle layer, composed of a fiberglass mesh, provides crucial additional strength and tear resistance to the scrim insulation facing. This reinforcement helps prevent ripping or tearing during installation and handling.

Kraft Paper: The inner layer is made of brown kraft paper and serves several purposes. It acts as a vapor retarder, preventing moisture from migrating through the insulation and potentially causing mold or mildew growth. Additionally, the kraft paper provides a smooth surface for the aluminum foil to adhere to and increases the facing's overall durability.

While our Foil Scrim Kraft Insulation facing offers numerous benefits, proper installation is key to preventing moisture entry through any gaps.

Applications:

  • Building Insulation: Ideal for covering insulation materials in attics, walls, and floors.
  • Ductwork: Essential for preventing condensation and heat loss within HVAC systems.
  • Industrial Use: Effectively insulates pipes, tanks, and various other industrial equipment.

Benefits

  • Improved Energy Efficiency: Significantly reduces heat transfer and energy loss.
  • Moisture Control: Acts as an effective vapor barrier, keeping moisture out of the insulation.
  • Enhanced Durability: Provides robust protection for the insulation material against damage.
  • Flame Retardant: Provides an added layer of protection against fire risks, making it suitable for use in various environments where fire safety is a concern.
  • Ease of Installation: Designed for straightforward attachment to insulation materials.
