Insulation Facing Description

Aluminum foil vapor barrier is F/R grade Foil-Scrim-Kraft Facing with 2-way scrim and 60gsm Kraft (F/R treated). Aluminum foil vapor barrier is laminated 5 layers of structure, the outer layer is aluminum foil and kraft paper. All 5 layers laminated together using a flame-retardant adhesive. The outer layer is aluminum foil and kraft paper, middle layer is the glass fiber layer double side coated with flame-retardant adhesive, it increased tensile strength of FSK, and the aluminum foil and kraft paper are firmly bonded.

Aluminum Foil Vapor Barrier Features:

Moisture Resistance: Aluminum foil vapor barriers are designed to provide an effective barrier against moisture, preventing its transmission through walls, floors, or other surfaces.

Reflective Surface: The aluminum foil surface of the vapor barrier reflects radiant heat, enhancing thermal performance and energy efficiency in buildings.

Durability: Aluminum foil vapor barriers are durable and resistant to punctures, tears, and degradation, providing long-lasting protection against moisture infiltration.

Compatibility: They are compatible with various insulation materials and building components, making them versatile for a wide range of applications.

Aluminum Foil Vapor Barrier Applications:

Building Construction: Aluminum foil vapor barriers are widely used in building construction to prevent the transmission of moisture through walls, floors, and roofs. They are commonly installed in residential homes, commercial buildings, and industrial facilities to enhance energy efficiency and protect against condensation.

HVAC Systems: Vapor barriers are essential in HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems to prevent the migration of moisture into insulation and ductwork. Aluminum foil vapor barriers can be installed in ducts, air handlers, and other HVAC components to maintain thermal performance and prevent mold growth.

Attic and Crawl Space Insulation: Installing aluminum foil vapor barriers in attics and crawl spaces helps control moisture and prevent the buildup of condensation. They are often used in combination with insulation materials to create a moisture-resistant barrier, improving the overall energy efficiency of the building.

Basement and Foundation Walls: Vapor barriers are crucial in basement and foundation walls to prevent moisture infiltration and potential water damage. By installing an aluminum foil vapor barrier, you can help protect against moisture-related issues such as mold growth and structural damage.
