Aluminum foil vapor barrier is F/R grade Foil-Scrim-Kraft Facing with 2-way scrim and 60gsm Kraft (F/R treated). Aluminum foil vapor barrier is laminated 5 layers of structure, the outer layer is aluminum foil and kraft paper. All 5 layers laminated together using a flame-retardant adhesive. The outer layer is aluminum foil and kraft paper, middle layer is the glass fiber layer double side coated with flame-retardant adhesive, it increased tensile strength of FSK, and the aluminum foil and kraft paper are firmly bonded.
Reflective Surface: The aluminum foil surface of the vapor barrier reflects radiant heat, enhancing thermal performance and energy efficiency in buildings.
Durability: Aluminum foil vapor barriers are durable and resistant to punctures, tears, and degradation, providing long-lasting protection against moisture infiltration.
Compatibility: They are compatible with various insulation materials and building components, making them versatile for a wide range of applications.
Wall Assemblies: Aluminum foil vapor barriers are commonly used in wall assemblies to control moisture vapor transmission and improve the overall performance of insulation materials.
Roofing Systems: They are applied in roofing systems to enhance moisture resistance and thermal efficiency, particularly in cold climates where condensation can be a concern.
HVAC Ducts: Aluminum foil vapor barriers are used in HVAC ductwork to prevent moisture buildup and maintain air quality within the duct system.
Start with the ceiling then the walls.
Staple the foil vapor barrier to all interior surfaces; the wall and ceiling, not the floor. Overlap your wall foil over the 3″ of the ceiling, helping to keep rising heat near the ceiling.
