Double sided foil insulation is a type of insulation material that consists of two layers of reflective foil with a layer of insulation material sandwiched in between. The reflective foil layers are typically made of aluminum and are highly reflective, which helps to reflect radiant heat away from the insulated space. The insulation material in the middle layer provides additional thermal resistance and helps to reduce heat transfer through conduction and convection.
Double Sided Foil Insulation is ideally used as sarking and insulation under roofs, in walls behind cladding or under timber floors, for residential and commercial building. Combining with glass-wool /rockwool/ mineral wool/ foam insulation, it is excellent as a vapor barrier and reflective aluminum foil insulation for air-conditioning ducts, pipes and vessels.
This type of insulation is often used in hot climates to keep buildings cool by reflecting the sun’s heat away. It can also be used in cold climates to prevent heat loss by reflecting the heat back into the building. Double-sided foil insulation is lightweight, easy to install, and can provide effective insulation in a wide range of applications. It is excellent as radiant barriers, flame retardant and vapor barriers can reduce energy loss costs 5% to 10%.
