Double-sided reflective foil insulation is a insulation material that consists of a layer of reflective foil on both sides. It is designed to reduce heat transfer by reflecting radiant heat. The reflective foil is typically made of aluminum or another highly reflective material, which helps to reflect heat away from the surface it is installed on.
Double Sided Reflective Foil Insulation DFM-101A is a light duty, Eco grade D/S aluminum foil insulation. Reflective aluminum foil insulation is made from 1 outer layers of pure aluminum foil and 1 outer layer of metallized polyester film as well as 1 layer recycled Kraft paper. These layers are bonded together with polyethylene and reinforced with 3-way fiberglass scrim.
Double Sided Reflective Foil Insulation is ideally used as sarking and insulation under roofs, in walls behind cladding or under timber floors, for residential and commercial building. Reflective foil insulation needs to combine with other insulation options in colder climates to beat heat loss due to convection. Reflective aluminum foil insulation systems excellent as radiant barriers, flame retardant and vapor barriers, can reduce energy loss costs 5% to 10%. Combining with glass-wool /rockwool/ mineral wool/ foam insulation, reflective aluminum foil insulation is excellent as a vapor barrier for air-conditioning ducts, pipes and vessels.
