ASJ Insulation Tape

ASJ insulation tape is a type of tape used in the insulation industry, particularly in HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems. ASJ stands for “All-Service Jacket,” which refers to the type of facing material used in this tape. All Service Jacket (ASJ) is a white reinforced paper that is laminated to a layer of lightweight foil.

ASJ insulation tape is designed to be durable, moisture-resistant, and able to withstand a wide range of temperatures. It is commonly used to seal and secure insulation facing joints in HVAC ductwork. By using ASJ insulation tape, HVAC systems can be effectively insulated, reducing energy loss and improving the overall performance of the system. Tape Applications:

Sealing seams and joints: Primarily used for creating airtight seals at the butts (joints where two pieces of insulation meet) or laps (overlapping sections) of ASJ-faced insulation panels. This helps prevent air infiltration and maintain the thermal efficiency of the insulation system.
Patching minor tears and punctures: Can be used to repair small rips or holes in ASJ facing, preventing further damage and maintaining the integrity of the insulation system.
Vapor barrier reinforcement: By sealing seams and joints, ASJ tape can also help improve the vapor barrier integrity of the insulation system, further enhancing its effectiveness.
